What do you find that sabotages most people in making long-term changes that knowingly will benefit their wellness? In my case, I have cellular memory of being an athlete, as well as the information, motivation and even the time and ability to make changes by prioritizing my physical state daily. Yet, I am not consistent in my focus in this one area. I experience little surges of victory, which ebb away with time. How do I find and resolve my "saboteur" once and for all???

Hello Nordine & Michelle,

Great blog!! Thank you so much for providing this information for women and women entrepreneurs such as myself.

OK, my quesiton is:

Like any bride, I want to look fabulous on my wedding day and my honeymoon. I actually look in not bad shape I am 5 feet 10 inches tall and ama size 8 most of the time (sometimes 6) But the truth is I am totally out of shape. I ran with my new puppy the other day and felt like I almost died, I was so out of breath. I may look in shape but I really am not. Plus my legs are not toned at all (zero muscle) and I have about 3-4 inches I'd like to lose off my hips, butt area (where my family gains weight). For my wedding day August 18th, this year I need to lose at least 1.5 - 2 inches on my hips.

I am serious about getting into great shape, having toned legs, and lose 2 inches off my butt/hip area as well as being able to kick up my heels at my own party without feeling like I'm 80.

What types of excerises should I be concentrating my efforts in?

Thank you in advance.

Much love,

Stefanie :)

Hi Stephanie- You have 10 weeks and you will get the results you desire by first seeing, feeling and believing you are already in the shape you desire. Once this is done and shouldn't take more than a few minutes to do so, perform a full body workout and some cardio to finish the session (Elliptical cross trainer is the best).

Go for it Stephanie, because you can!

Hi there. I've been running two miles 4 or 5 days a week for more than two years now, and I can never really seem to add any more stamina. What's up with that? It seems so strange that I haven't been able to go longer and longer distances. Is it because I'm, um, 48? I've always been fairly active but I didn't start running until just a few years ago. Thanks,
Gin

Hello -

I am a stay-at-home mother of 2 small children plus I have started a home-based business. I don't have to lose weight as much as tone up but the problem is figuring out when/how to do it. I have early risers (5:30) so getting up before them is not an option and I just find myself exhausted most of the day. I know I have to stop making excuses and schedule it into my day but I just don't know what the best, most effective exercises I could start adding would be? Are there little things I could be doing throughout the day that will add up? Are there things I could be doing with my children?

Thanks!

Hi Nordine & Michelle --

Where can I find information regarding any effects that menopause or aging may have on metabolism? As I have been going through it, my weight is creeping up. I exercise 3-4xs a week. Do I need to up my exercise even more?

Thanks!

Hi Nordine,

I try to stay in shape but my work schedule is crazy (8am - 8pm most days). I was trying to go to the gym every morning before work but it became too much and I started to dread going. Is there a good way to balance going at night and in the mornings so I'm not dead tired ?? Also - I'm usually working till at least 8pm should I stop eating after 7pm ? Thanks!

Hi Lauren,

Can you find 20-30 minutes at midday? Lunch time? You should stop eating 2-3 hours for the exception of a few veggies. If you go to bed at 10 PM stop eating at 7 or 8 PM.

Sandy,

You can find info on menopause on the web just by googling the word. In terms of metabolism, you just need to boost it by eating the right balanced diet based on 40% good carbs(brown rice, whole wheat pasta, vegetables, fruits) 40% good protein (Whey protein, egg whites, chicken, turkey, fish) 20% good fats (olive oil, sunflower oil, nuts, avocado, flaxseed oil). In terms of exercise combine weight training 15-20 minutes and cardio 15-30 minutes, 5 times a week.

Mindfully your!
