Discovering face reading videos on Facebook really took the cake today. Lynn Scheurell’s face reading has video clips of herself looking at photos that her clients send her, and she does what’s called a “reading.” I’ve never heard of anything like this. Actually, it reminded me of palm reading (another thing I don’t really know anything about), but for your face. Intrigued by the whole thing, I contacted her, because inquiring minds want to know. And of course when an entrepreneur is doing something different and capturing the interest and attention of others, I feel it’s my duty to tell you about it.
How about a little background on face reading–what is it?
The art and science of face reading is actually quite ancient and is based on the same systems that form the foundation of Chinese medicine, acupuncture and feng shui. Essentially, your face contains clues as to the map of your life, including how you make decisions, how you approach relationships and your personal power levels. I use it to help my clients discover their true nature–their unique emotional and energetic patterns that make them special in the world so they can build their business from those natural strengths.
Why was Facebook the venue to roll out face reading as a tool?
My mission in life is to help soul-driven entrepreneurs to create a living from who they are–and they need to know that in order to align their unique energies with their success to get where they want to go in business. Two, I am a big believer in the power of face reading as a tool to help people understand themselves and others better, so I’m always looking for a new venue in which to do that. And last, for months, my friend Michelle Price has been trying to get me to optimize my social networking–at last, the planets came together and voila, Face Reading for Facebook was born!
Does a certain feature, like a larger nose, have the same interpretation on every face?
Actually, each feature has its own unique qualities and characteristics, but it depends on how it works into and relates to the whole. For example, the nose is about your back and spine; it represents the decade of your 40s and may give us a clue as to your personal sense of aesthetics, among other things. Additionally, it’s important to consider the ethnic heritage of the face wearing the nose. The interpretation really depends on the concert of the features working together for that particular person. By the by, my face reading master, Jean Haner (who just wrote The Wisdom of Your Face), describes the face forming as wearing the face of your mother until you are 24, growing your own until you’re 54, and then deserving to wear your own face after that.
So what role does intuition play in interpreting a face?
A face reader will have [his or her] own filters as to what [he or she sees] in your face. However, there are uniform principles and meaning to what [he or she sees]. That’s why face reading is both a science and an art: The goal is to attune your energy as a face reader to the universal truths that are present to the degree that you can offer insight to the [people] wearing the face so that they can align themselves more completely with who they are. A face reading is very different from a psychic reading, although I do have to say that I do use my intuition in working with my clients throughout our work together.
What value/advantages does face reading offer people?
Face reading helps people to live their lives in alignment with their own natural rhythms, to find the life path that nurtures and supports them and, most importantly, to allow them to live in compassion with themselves and others.
Learning what your own face is really saying is an incredibly empowering experience, because face reading helps you discover your own inner self and gives you a reference point from which to make new decisions to support you creating your life by design. You’ll see how you’ve made decisions in the past, how you’ve reacted to situations in the past that just didn’t add up to what you knew in your head, and how you can choose to support yourself up for success by working with your own natural proclivities.
Specifically with relation to Facebook, you can learn how your picture affects your profile so that you can stand out from everybody else by being in alignment with your personal power sources and unique patterns.
Are these videos on the Facebook site representative of an actual face reading?
In a way, yes–I’m highlighting key natural energies for the purpose of sharing with people a little more about that person. However, a true session goes much more in-depth and gets a lot more personal–and it takes about an hour, maybe longer, depending on what comes up for the person receiving the reading. My intention was to share this as a tool in a way that’s fun and helpful to generate interest in the work that people are doing . . . I get beyond the stories, the persona, the “noise” around the person and really get to the core of [his or her] essence to help [him or her] move to where they [he or she wants] to go. In the case of these “mini” video readings, I am really just sharing the power of face reading through an easy introduction with a dash of fun thrown in there.
How are people responding?
People are really enjoying it! They are sharing the videos with their friends and posting comments on their Facebook pages and in their social networking circles. It’s only been 24 hours, and I already have fans on the Face Reading for Facebook business page–and in my Face Reading for Facebook Group (which I discovered are two different things), people are registering there, too. I’m only going to be reading the faces of entrepreneurs who are in my Friends list for the short videos. But, of course, if people want a longer session with me, that can be arranged. (Actually, it’s really vital that people know more about themselves if they are entrepreneurs–that could be their key to accelerating their success!)

That’s it for today. Stay tuned for more fascinating stories.
If you have a story to tell, a pet peeve you need to get off your chest, a suggestion or a compliment it would be a pleasure to hear from you.
